Corazones Magicos is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, founded and led by cancer survivor Kathy Viteri. Kathy and her team work tirelessly year-round to raise funds donated in full to a shelter in Peru called Casa Magia. This shelter is specifically designed and dedicated to helping children with cancer in the country's poorest areas. On August 28th 2024, the organization hosted their annual gala, featuring international artists and hosting giveaways. During the event, they illustrated to the attendees how their previous donations had been utilized throughout the year to enhance and expand the shelter in Peru, offering underprivileged children a chance at a better life.
Every year they come together to create something truly special: the Corazones Mágicos Gala. More than just an event, it is a celebration of hope for children who are battling cancer. Behind every smile, every laugh, every moment of inspiration, there's a lot of work that goes into making this night happen. Kathy Viteri is at the helm of this operation; she knows exactly what it's like to face something as scary as cancer. They have to put all of these cans into this massive fridge that way all the drinks are nice and cold for tomorrow's event. This is no easy task and takes a huge toll on them.
From decorations to tech setup, it took an entire team of dedicated people to bring this event to life. Renzo, the son of Kathy Viteri, worked in lighting within the venue, running the video feed, and capturing the event through videos and photos. The lights made everything feel more alive, more magical.
SHEHDS connected Corazones Magicos to secure the lighting needed for the event, by sponsoring wash moving head and gobo to light the length of the venue's walls up, providing the lighting for the Annual Gala occurring in Costa Mesa, CA. This was all for them—the kids and families who need a little hope in something so tough. Every little bit of support helps so much—whether through financial donations or simply spreading the word. Together we can make a huge difference in the lives of these kids!
